Lacrosse Clinic

Improve your stick skills

Lax Clinic

We host a 12-week-long stick skills clinic twice a year - over the summer and the winter. It is an intensive, high-rep training session focused entirely on mastering fundamental stickwork. Clinics emphasize building "soft hands" through drills like wall ball, quick sticks, and passing on the run. The goal is to make ball handling feel entirely natural.

Ages

For Boys and Girls ages 6 to 18.

When

The summer session starts in mid-June.

The winter session starts in early December.

Where

Field one at the complex. If we have a rainy day, players will move to the weight room.

Practices

Wednesday afternoons.

Warm-Up & Grip Correction

  • Proper Grip: Coaches emphasize holding the stick with your fingers (not the palms). The dominant hand sits about 1-2 inches from the butt end, with the non-dominant hand roughly halfway up the shaft for control.

  • Stationary Cradling: Players run through basic one-handed cradling (both dominant and non-dominant) to learn how to manipulate the pocket while keeping the ball secure away from imaginary defenders

Passing, Catching, & "Quick Sticks"

  • The Rebounder/Partner Work: Players pair up or use a Lacrosse Rebounder to drill reps against a wall. They practice overhand, sidearm, and underhand passes, focusing on stepping toward the target and pushing with the top hand.

  • Quick Sticks: Players receive and release the ball instantly without cradling. This drill develops reaction time, hand-eye coordination, and forces players to catch the ball cleanly before immediately throwing it back.

  • Off-Hand Development: Clinics dedicate significant time to non-dominant-hand passing to make players into ambidextrous threats.

Summer Stick Skills

The program is recurring on Wednesday afternoons for 12 weeks

Cost is $25 per session
